Food 4 Fitness Is Changing The Meal Prep Game
Bridging the gap between budget, balanced and hassle-free

Move over Hello Fresh, Marley Spoon and Youfoodz. We may be spoilt for choice these days when it comes to kits, pre-made meals and food delivery, but in our eyes there’s always something to be said for a local Shire business upping the game.
Back in 2014, professional trainer Giancarlo was witnessing his clients struggling with the mental load and time-consuming nature of preparing wholesome, nutrient-dense, balanced food. So, drawing from his family background in restaurants, he began cooking for them. Eleven years and many growth spurts later, Food 4 Fitness has expanded across six major Australian cities and sends out some 20,000 to 30,000 meals a week direct from their Kirrawee HQ.
Designed for mums, dads, grandparents, kids, your mates and your neighbours; for those who are trying to lose weight, gain weight or simply eat well, the menu is rooted in wholesome food that delivers the right macro components. It’s simple, transparent and no-fuss without compromising on taste or variety. And best of all, it comes in multiple sizes that allow for customisation and flexibility - including bulk.
“The food is something that you would eat at a restaurant or you'd get on Uber,” explains Giancarlo. “We just moderate our ratios and our ingredients a lot better to get the same result, if not better.”
Among the most popular meals on offer are a range of pastas (“The pastas go crazy!”), an “explosive” Korean sticky beef, several rib options, briskets, steaks, and big-sellers nachos, burrito bowls, and Nasi Goreng.
But it’s not just the nutritious content of the Food 4 Fitness meals that we love - it’s also the pain points they’re alleviating. Between the hours spent daily on meal preparation to the $91 average spent on takeaway each week (yes, you read that right), there’s a lot to be said for the service that Giancarlo and his team are providing.
“Think about someone working in a corporate office. When they get home, it's probably eight o'clock, they get off the train, the last thing they want to do is cook. We reduce all of that and say, ‘Hey, you can actually use that same 91 dollars and actually achieve your goals - and get change back’,” says the brand’s Managing Director, Troy.
And of course, our favourite fact about Food 4 Fitness is that they’re Shire locals, with ties to the NRLWs and Cronulla Sharks.
If you’re looking to dip your toe in the proverbial water, the best option is to grab one of the Food 4 Fitness sample boxes, which grants you access to a range of the best-sellers. Other options include the $109 weight loss pack (with 10 meals included), cooked bulk packs, or a custom design option.
You can explore what’s on offer and read up on the macro information on their website. Or, you can pop into their Kirrawee Warehouse or one of their other local pick up points to collect in person.
