Inside NUED Skin’s Dreamy New Jannali Studio
Rest, relaxation and results all rolled into one

With new businesses and venues popping up all the time, it’s not often you encounter one that has laid its roots for decades in the Shire. However, that is the case for Femme Fatale, which stood as a familiar face on Jannali’s Box Road for over 30 years. But when the time came for Gabbi and her team to take the reins from her mother earlier this year, she devised a brand new evolution to mark the occasion. The first step in the process? A new name, NUED Skin.
“I worked in the salon for about 11 years or so and it was a family business. Originally, Mum took it over and inherited the old name. She never liked it,” says Gabbi. “The new name, NUED, signals a space where you feel beautiful bare-faced.”
To match its new ethos, Gabbi and her team went on the hunt for a new space and, in a strike of serendipity, found one right around the corner. Tucked neatly between boutique bottle shop, Bottle Keg Can and MattBlak property, the shutters have only recently come down from Gabbi’s reimagined salon.
Beyond the front door lies a space that incites instant calm. All natural stone, big, beautiful curves, filtered light, luxurious finishes and limewashed walls. It’s clean and sophisticated without feeling cold.
“I wanted it to be clean and professional, but still have a relaxing, welcoming vibe - not like a doctor’s surgery,” says Gabbi.
With an extensive repertoire of options, NUED Skin is more than just a skin clinic. It’s relaxing, but it’s also results-based - “not just a fluffy facial,” says Gabbi. Built on an understanding that no two skin types are the same, the team at NUED Skin provides a totally customised service that is tailored to individual needs, using the studio’s high-tech skin analysis machine.
“It gives us a real baseline for every client,” says Gabbi. “From there we build a completely customised treatment plan, and because we’re tracking the same data each visit, clients can actually see their results over time not just feel them.”
Some of the treatments on offer include skin needling, skin peels, IPL treatments and the trending Dr Esthé spicule facial. The care the team provides is not just in-salon, but sets you up to continue the ritual from home, using advanced, professional-grade skincare brand, Medik8.
Although skin treatments are NUED Skin’s bread and butter, brow and lash treatments are also key. Offering lamination and waxing, lash lifts, extensions and tinting, as well as a slew of other treatments including massage, spray tan and teeth whitening, NUED Skin is a bit of a one-stop shop for luxe beauty.
To celebrate the evolution of NUED Skin and the opening of its brand new home, the team is hosting a grand opening on Friday 24th July. Those attending will be able to have a first-hand look at the space, the products and - for the first 10 to arrive - a free skin analysis.
