Reintroducing Jack Gray Cafe & Wine Bar At Grays Point

Although sporting a similar look, the local cafe has a new direction that pays homage to a very special place…

Grays Point – a hidden riverside gem where the Sutherland Shire meets the Royal National Park, and locals are lucky enough to have Jack Gray Cafe right on their doorstep. Nestled along the main strip, Jack Gray sits among a small strip of shops that have everything you need (and then some): an old-school convenience store, a boutique bottle shop, a post box. It’s the kind of setup that’ll have you wondering if moving to this suburb is the best decision you’ll ever make as you ponder what more you could possibly need.

While the familiar terracotta tiles, textured walls, archways, and sun-drenched seating remain unchanged, the cafe’s new owners are bringing a fresh, original concept to their loyal patrons and newcomer customers making the journey to discover something unique.

In a nod to the rarity and beauty of their unique surroundings, the team behind Jack Grey has introduced a brand spanking new menu starring native ingredients, found peppered through every dish in a reflection of the land, its seasons and its story.

Led by a freshly-appointed Head Chef, the menu reinvigorates what we come to expect from traditional cafe and wine bar plates, giving them a distinctly Australian twist. Think wattleseed in banana bread, Karkalla tomato atop fitters, native dukkah sprinkled on avo toast and scrambled eggs drizzled with lemon myrtle oil.

The dinner menu follows the same tread, with local favourites including the Herb Crusted Barramundi and the Prawn Parpadelle, both featuring the zesty flavours of native ingredients, such as finger lime and lemon myrtle. But it’s not just the food that keeps customers coming back, it's also the innovative cocktail and non-alcholic menu. Top picks according to the team are the Plum-Rim Cosmopolitan and Bush Citrus Marg. We do love a venue with a brand of their own!

Open seven days, Jack Gray has become a morning stop off and a favourite lunch time spot, serving their own coffee with a distinct profile and specialty matcha - including one blended with lemon myrtle, honey and smoked sea salt alongside more common flavours of biscoff, strawberry rose, pistachio and more.

Enjoy dinner on Friday and Saturday nights, and Happy Hour between 2:00pm and 5:00pm from Friday until Sunday, where you can nab a bottle of wine for just $35. Kids aren’t left out, either, and are treated to $10 fries and milkshakes between 3:00pm and 5:00pm on Fridays - after school stop-off anyone?

Good news continues with their bottomless menu, which has to be one of the best in the Shire.

For just $79pp, enjoy 8 plates of deliciousness, including a Sticky Date with wattleseed to finish, and free-flowing Aperol Spritz, mimosas, wine, and beer. It’s sure to get you hooked and thinking up any excuse for a long lunch with your crew.
