Hazel, Gymea
May is shaping up to be a big one. From new bottomless sessions to Mother’s Day pop-ups, fresh foodie openings, and markets worth clearing your weekend for, the Shire is buzzing. Pull out your diary, rally your crew, and start locking in your plans.
New Bottomless Alert: OG’s Cronulla
OG’s has officially jumped on the bottomless train — and their lineup isn’t one worth missing. Think Grilled Barramundi Tacos, Cheesy Pesto Fingers, Spanish Meatballs, and two hours of free-flowing drinks (yep, including Espresso Martinis and Spritz’s). It’s $85 a head, running Wednesday to Friday from 12:00pm to 2:00pm, and Sundays from 12:00pm to 4:00pm.
Bobby’s Is Shouting Mum a Coffee This Mother’s Day
Bobby’s is marking Mother’s Day with free coffees for every mum who stops by. From 8:00am to 10:00am, Piazza D’Oro will be set up out front, pouring the good stuff while you soak up the waterfront views. Swing past, grab a cuppa, and start Mum’s day on a high note.
Bangor Tavern Has Had a Glow-Up — Meet Robertos
Italian classics, big spritz jugs, and a relaxed pub vibe — Bangor’s newest arrival, Robertos, is serving up all the right reasons to book a long lunch. Brought to you by the crew behind Bobby’s Cronulla, Robertos is flipping the script at Bangor Tavern with Woodfired Pizza, House-Made Ragu, Pistachio Gelato, and more. It’s a fresh take that’s already making waves — and yes, you’ll still find all your pub favourites on the menu too.
Design Your Own Welded Bracelet
Zoe Alexandria is opening her studio across Mother’s Day weekend for permanent jewellery appointments — a thoughtful, personalised gift Mum will love for years to come. Drop in on Saturday 10th (9:00am to 2:00pm) or Sunday 11th (10:00am to 2:00pm) for a delicate, welded gold or silver bracelet or necklace, with the option to add a personalised birthstone. Walk-ins welcome, bookings recommended.
Head To Pippi’s For A Mid-Week Treat
Pippi’s has just rolled out a couple of midweek perks worth pencilling in. On Mondays, it’s BYO with zero corkage — bring your favourite bottle and settle in by the water. Come Wednesday, kids eat free for both lunch and dinner. No fine print, no fuss — just good food, great views, and even better company.
Visit The Newly Opened Panetta Mercato in Woolooware Bay
Family-owned Panetta Mercato has officially opened in Woolooware Bay, sitting pretty on Level 1 with a seriously impressive lineup of fresh produce, cold cuts, artisanal cheeses, and premium pantry goods. With roots going back to 1999, Panetta is all about high-quality, personalised service, and making your weekly shop feel a little bit luxe.
Beats, Beers And Good Times At Cronulla Jazz And Blues Festival
At the very end of the month (28th May to 1st June, to be exact) sits an event that is guaranteed to be music to any jazz-lover’s ears - literally. Cronulla’s very own Jazz and Blues Festival is set to feature 100+ free performances, accompanied by great beer, wine, food and kid-friendly activities over five riff-filled days. The event itself is free, but die-hard fans might like to check out some of the exclusive ticketed events via their website.
Raise a Glass — Wine Nights Have Hit Hazel
Hazel Gymea is rolling out their brand new Wine Nights — and trust us, you’ll want in. First up on May 2nd and May 30th, they’re welcoming Charles Simons from Mayfield Vineyard for an intimate night of standout wines, incredible food, and good conversation. Think a 4-course dinner paired with nine exceptional drops from one of Orange’s most historic wineries (dating back to 1815). Tickets are $135 per person, and spots are limited, so now’s the time to book.
Part-Time Ceramics Market Returns
Save the date — Part Time Ceramics is hosting their annual Ceramics Market on Sunday, May 4th. Expect handmade ceramics, studio vibes, local makers, seconds sales, and even paint-a-pot workshops if you’re feeling creative. There’s free coffee with any purchase too, so you can sip while you shop. Doors are open from 9:00am to 2:00pm.
Score Mum a Free Bottle of Prosecco at Pino’s
Book your Mother’s Day dinner from 5:00pm at Pino’s in Cronulla and drop “Viva la Mamma” in the notes — they’ll throw in a bottle of Prosecco on the house. Because nothing says happy Mother’s Day like bubbles by the beach. The usual à la carte menu’s on offer, plus a few special dishes for the day (Lasagna Cacio e Pepe, anyone?).
